In this video Ben Eaves explains and demonstrates a hockey skills warm up series used in Finland from their U8 to professional levels. In this video Ben demonstrates 26 skill variations using the same setup. As you will see it is great for all levels because you can make it as simple or complex as you like.

The main idea behind this is to get players working on basic fundamentals early on in practice. As you repeat these skills in your practices then you can increase the complexity or difficulty level as the players improve.

-Inside edges with puck
-Outside edges with puck
-Tight control turns with puck protection
-Pivoting facing one direction
-Pivoting facing opposite direction
-Inside out pivoting
-Mohawk turns
-Forehand only puck control
-Expansion of reach (long reach)

-Single shift – fake right pull left
-Backhand to forehand puck flip

-Push and pull puck
-Backward skating – forehand only

-Backward skating – cradling and underhandling puck

-Backward to forward pivoting figure eights
-Edgework stickhandle
-Howie Hips (puck to opposite side of tire)
